My journey to the field of massage started with sports and recovering from competitions, events and training. I have been fascinated with expediting recovery from all types of sports and outdoor activities through massage treatments. The results for myself and clients have been amazing and driven me to the fantastic field of massage therapy.

I have been working with professional athletes for several years in North America and Europe, but you don’t need to be a professional athlete to benefit from all the benefits of massage. I am excited to be part of the SportsLab (since Summer 2025) team to help you feel better, move faster and recover from any injuries. I provide clients with a unique and custom healing session with every treatment. My practice revolves around rehabilitation, treatment of pain and recovery by using modalities in deep tissue, trigger point, injury repair, Swedish and relaxation massage, as well as myofascial release. I work in conjunction and collaborate with fellow SportsLab practitioners to help clients achieve the best results for their optimal health and well-being.

I believe that getting regular massages as maintenance work will allow most people to do the things they love and be more active with less pain and discomfort for longer into their lives.

Benefits from massage include the following: Increased flexibility Maintaining flexibility Maintaining health Injury management and repair Recover from training & competition quickly Enhance athletic performance Increase range of motion Sleep improvement Immune function Blood pressure & stress management Relaxation Additionally, I travel and work with a professional UCI World Tour cycling team (ALPECIN-DECEUNINCK) during the race season. I provide massage therapy (along with race day support and logistics) for the riders at events around the world. Additionally I have represented the USA as a staff massage therapist at the 2021 UCI Road World Cycling Championships in Belgium.

Modalities Include:

Swedish Massage Athletic Massage Sports Massage Scar Tissue Pain Management Deep Tissue Pregnancy Massage Relaxation Massage Myofascial Release Trigger Point Therapy Injury and Rehabilitation Massage (Auto, Sports, or Personal Injury) Silicone Cupping Lymphatic Drainage Stress Relief Assisted Stretching Chair Massage

Taylor takes a pragmatic approach to rehab that centers on collaborating with the patient to address their unique needs and goals, while maximizing their ability to continue in their sport. She utilizes objective tests and measures to optimize and individualize exercise prescription throughout the rehab process. She is a board-certified clinical specialist in sports physical therapy and NSCA certified strength and conditioning specialist.

Taylor grew up in Maryland, playing soccer and basketball, and currently her primary sports are rock climbing (sport and trad) and snowboarding as well as split-boarding. She has experienced firsthand how injury can threaten personal identity, and is intentional to support patients through the mental and emotional challenges of rehab.

Taylor has been practicing physical therapy since 2020, and prior to that was a strength coach/personal trainer for several years. She has experience treating athletes across a variety of sports and levels, from NFL players and masters triathletes, to middle school athletes, weightlifters, and mountain athletes. In the summer of 2023 she had the unique opportunity to serve as the physical therapist for professional circus artists and dancers on a cruise ship in Greece.

She has a special interest in managing athletic overuse injuries, as well as return to sport after shoulder surgery, achilles repair, and ACL reconstruction. She contributed to a protocol for ACL rehab, authoring the portion on return to plyometrics and the incorporation of cognitive tasks alongside motor skills. She has expertise in exercise prescription in physical therapy and has presented on that topic at the American Physical Therapy Association’s national conference, in webinars, and as a guest lecturer for doctor of physical therapy programs.

Taylor particularly enjoys adventures with her dog Huck, game nights with friends, and keeps saying she’ll soon revisit her roots as a classical violinist.

I’m Lisa Mae, I use she/her pronouns and identify as a queer, white-reading, able-bodied, middle class, education-privileged, menopausal, cisgender woman living with chronic pain and autoimmune illness. I’ve been practicing Acupuncture since 2000, and my skills are founded on the holistic and person-centered principles of Japanese Meridian Energetics, Acupuncture Physical Medicine, myofascial release via soft-tissue constrictions and trigger point techniques (erroneously called dry needling) alongside my 30+ years of movement, nervous system and pain science research. Through this kaleidoscope, I bring you decades of experience, compassion, and hands-on, trauma-informed body wisdom with a deep sense of intuitive, embodied connection. These studies along with my own chronic pain and autoimmune disease history have given me unique insights into the nature of bodies, both predictable and surprising, and to physical holding patterns of pain in the physical body as well as energetic holding patterns in the emotional body. I studied East Asian Medicine directly for many years with master practitioners Dr. Mark Seem, Arya Nielsen, Margaret Rita McMeekin, and Kiiko Matsumoto in New York City beginning in 1997, and earned both an M.S., L.Ac. in Acupuncture Physical Medicine from TSCA in 2000 and eventually a Master’s Certificate in Japanese Acupuncture directly from Kiiko Matsumoto through her ongoing work with Master Nagano, her teacher.

I love bodies and I am here to really see you and listen to you, and believe that movement and ease are everyone’s right. I love working with other queer and trans people, with disabled and low-mobility folks, with people that identify as fat, with neurodivergent folks, weekend warriors, professional athletes, regular desk job folks, your elderly mom or cranky teenager and really, all manner of folks that want to move their bodies with more ease.

Helping enhance athletic performance and recovery is a real passion, and I have a particular interest in tendon rehabilitation and overuse injuries. I have worked with all kinds of Olympic, Professional and performance athletes individually (dance, triathlon, basketball, volleyball, rugby, roller-derby, yoga, rock climbing, running, power/weightlifting, racquetball, swimming, cycling, gymnastics, soccer, tennis…) in training camps and with teams. I’ll even treat your cranky, injured teenage athlete; like a kooky, child-free Auntie, teenagers seem to love me. I want to help you avoid surgery and get off pain medication if that is your goal, and if you can’t avoid it, I can help you with pre- and post-surgical rehab work.

I am endlessly curious about bodies and experiences, and I ask a lot of questions; my patient-centered style of acupuncture is well suited for many chronic or complex disorders that often fall outside the mainstream medical care approaches—I love a challenge and there is a lot of misinformation about pain out there, so I work hard to educate folks about their bodies and also about sometimes scary medical diagnoses they receive without context or explanation. I think it’s important to note that acupuncture’s effect on stress management, PTSD and trauma is immeasurable, and most pain has some component of these neurobiological aspects.

I am a licensed massage therapist with a decade of experience in sports and orthopedic massage. After my retirement as a professional dancer in New York City, I took advantage of New York’s stimulating environment and graduated from Hunter College of the City University of New York, studying biology and chemistry. I loved chemistry so much I paid my way through college tutoring the pre-med students (not everyone loves electron pushing as much as I did!) After a devastating running injury I became interested in rehabilitation and manual therapy when I had a fantastic physical therapist who had been an LMT for many years prior. I could feel that his approach to manual therapy was beautifully informed by his massage experience. I trained in lomi lomi massage while living in Hawai’i, then I was lucky to work with Mel Cash of London School of Sports Massage, and Whitney Lowe of Academy of Clinical Massage to focus my work on sports and orthopedic massage. I am not a pressure-based massage therapist. My work is informed by your goals, your history and a style that works towards mobility and neuromuscular neutrality, not forcefulness. While I always incorporate the deep tissue techniques and my orthopedic background, my style is based in the lomi tradition which is cognizant of who you are and how your body responds to manual work. Perhaps because I was recovering from a traumatic injury during massage school, I have always sought out approaches that don’t rely on the misconception that pain equals efficacy. If I’m not at work, I am training for my next race on whatever road or trail is available, working in my metalsmithing studio, or complaining to my physical therapist that I don’t like his new assignment - but then doing it (and loving it) because he is usually right and knows how to educate around all my protests. I look forward to helping you meet your movement goals!
